Research interests:

 

Collaborative signal processing in networked systems
  • Distributed decision making for cooperative reinforcement learning: model free, off-policy, in large state-spaces and with partial observability
  • Distributed optimization: diffusion strategies for convex optimization and variational inequalities
  • Distributed learning and inference: general algorithms for feature extraction and clustering, regression and classification, detection... I am also interested in distributed implementations of kernel methods

Self Organization

  • Individual-group duality in networked systems
  • Why does cooperation emerge? I see this question much deeper that what it could seem at first. 
Ambient intelligence
  • Real implementation of distributed signal processing algorithms over WSAN (Wireless Sensors and Actuators Networks), in particular I have experience with Contiki OS and TinyOS.
Complex Systems
  • I believe distributed decision making is a good framework for studying dynamics of complex networks and chaos
